At We® Restaurant, located on the west coast of Keelung Harbor, we perfectly embody the seamless integration between the city and the port. Here, you will find yourself amidst a landscape where the old and new intertwine, offering a unique dining experience. We are dedicated to redefining the image of Keelung, showcasing the city's rich history and diverse cultural charm. This mission is supported by the Keelung City Government team, associations, academics, and local residents.
We extend special recognition to the West Coast landscape design team, led by architects Manolo F. Ufer and Song Zhenmai from Ikou Planning & Design Consultants. They introduced the "Zero Point" concept, symbolizing Keelung as Taiwan's gateway to the world. This concept not only enhances the aesthetic foundation of the West Coast landscape but also achieves a seamless connection between the harbor and historical cultural buildings.
Looking back at the historical development of Keelung Harbor, its proximity to Japan made it an important maritime hub during the Japanese colonial period in Taiwan. In 1896, the Taiwan Governor-General's Office officially designated the "Command Line" between Taiwan and Japan, further promoting the development of Taiwan's transportation infrastructure. Keelung Harbor was fully integrated with Kaohsiung Harbor through the north-south railway. In the 1920s, two Japanese shipping companies, Osaka Shosen Kaisha and Nippon Yusen Kaisha, established branches at Keelung Harbor, becoming landmarks of the time and symbolizing the arrival of a "modernized port" for travelers to Taiwan. However, during World War II, the Osaka Shosen Kaisha branch was completely destroyed, and the Nippon Yusen Kaisha branch suffered significant damage.
After the war, the Nippon Yusen Kaisha branch in Keelung transformed from its original role into what is now the "YM Oceanic Culture and Art Museum." Meanwhile, the site adjacent to the original Osaka Shosen Kaisha building (now the Keelung Bus Terminal) became home to We® in 2023, continuing its role as a key point in Keelung's history, and once again rising along the Keelung Harbor.
Within the space of We®, you will sit on Karimoku New Standard (KNS) solid wood furniture, designed by world-renowned designers, and experience the imported goods culture of Keelung. Here, you will savor unique dishes that reflect the cultural paths of Keelung and Taiwan, and personally experience the results of our collaboration with teams and enterprises from across Taiwan. Every visit to We® promises an unforgettable and uniquely Keelung city experience.

We® is committed to the sustainable development and revitalization of the West Coast area. Since the Japanese colonial period, Keelung's eagles have soared above Keelung Harbor, witnessing the city's changes and prosperity. Keelung Harbor became a model in the modernization process. After World War II, generations of eagles continued to spread their wings, symbolizing Keelung's historic glory and resilient spirit.
We draw inspiration from these eagles, incorporating their freedom and courage into our dishes. Each dish reflects the symbolic meaning of the eagles, allowing guests to experience Keelung's rich history and culture while dining.
We hope that each visit brings you a unique experience, connecting guests closely with Keelung's historical and cultural heritage. Here, you are not just enjoying a meal; you are savoring the essence of a city filled with history and honor.
Creating We® has been a delightful surprise in our lives. During the creation process, we combined sound and meaning, engaging in creative wordplay that represents our inner call – “making room for life.” This symbolizes our desire to carve out a space in Keelung that has been overlooked by habit, integrating the past, present, and future, and coexisting with the rare landscape of the west coast harbor.
The leaders of the We® team come from Taiwan's top ten 4A advertising agencies, with approximately twenty years of in-house creative experience. Since founding our graphic design company in 2017, we have been committed to integrating brand content to meet market demands. By a stroke of luck, we returned to our hometown and became the design team for the Keelung Peace Island Park brand identity system. Since 2018, we have been serving related brand identity integration planning in Keelung, winning the Golden Pin Design Award for Best Design of the Year in 2019 and the Singapore Good Design Mark in 2020.
