We® is Taiwan's first restaurant themed around Karimoku New Standard (KNS), a brand jointly established in 2009 by Japan’s leading furniture brand Karimoku and emerging designers from around the world. Our space not only emphasizes functionality but also integrates refined aesthetic design, providing a unique dining experience at National Gate Plaza.

At We®, you will experience our signature furniture—the Color Stool. This stool, designed by Dutch designers Stefan Scholten and Carole Baijings, combines grid technology with a deep understanding of traditional craftsmanship and industrial production to create a harmonious balance of color and material. Every detail has been meticulously crafted by Japanese artisans, who carefully removed excess paint, leaving the pigment only in the grooves to form a distinctive texture. The legs of the stool are made of high-strength Itaya maple, ensuring outstanding durability.

The Scholten & Baijings design studio, founded in 2000, has collaborated with world-renowned institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago and the V&A Museum. They have won the Dutch Design Award three times, been named Designers of the Year by Wallpaper, and received the EDIDA International Design Award for Best Young Designer. They were also nominated for Designer of the Year by the Design Museum in London.

旅行世界拍攝非凡之地，我總是喜歡受人到人們熱情、充滿活力和創造力的熱烈歡迎，他們努力將一個概念變為現實。我在這裡拍攝現實。體積、視角和材料被轉化成存在的空間和物體。感謝WE R和Karimoku New Standard的邀請，我得以探索基隆，沉浸在這個歷史悠久的港口的氛圍中。這座位於絕佳位置的透明房屋，對我來說是一個非凡的遊樂場。這套精緻的木製家具系列在玻璃板之間的現代建築中得到了提升，帶來了無限的感覺和與港口船隻的直接連接，對於攝影師來說，這是一個承諾，將拍攝出多層次解讀的圖像。這次合作對我來說仍然是一次獨特的經歷。

Travelling around the world to photograph exceptional places, I always enjoy being warmly welcomed by people who give a lot of passion, energy and creativity to make a concept a reality. I'm here to photograph reality.

The volumes, perspectives, and materials are translated into the spaces and objects present. Discovering Keelung thanks to the invitation of WEROOM and Karimoku New Standard immerses me in the atmosphere of this port steeped in history. This transparent house, with its exceptional location, is for me an extraordinary playground. The enhancement of this exquisite collection of wooden furniture in a contemporary architecture in between glass panels, provides a feeling of infinity and direct connection with the ships of the port, which is, for a photographer, a promise of images with multiple levels of interpretation. This collaboration remains a unique experience for me.
